SM Entertainment (Hangul: 엔터테인먼트 SM), also known as SM Entertainment Company, is one of the leading entertainment conglomerate in Korea (along with two groups leading entertainment company JYP Entertainment & More is YG Entertainment ), specializing in the field of gifted education, manufacturing and distribution of products K-pop music, was founded by Lee Soo Man.
Initially, “SM” stands for Soo Man, SM, but now also known as “Star Museum” (Museum of the star). It is also the birthplace of the legendary band in the world of K-pop as H.O.T., S.E.S. Shinhwa and current or BoA, TVXQ (currently only two members U-Know and Max), The Grace, Zhang Li Yin, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee, f (x), EXO, Red Velvet and NCT .
Avex Trax SM Entertainment made with representatives of a number of Japanese artists such as Ayumi Hamasaki, Namie Amuro and Koda Kumi. Firm celebrated its 10th anniversary on February 15, 2006. Total company’s current director is Kim Young-min.
